[vɥi'joːm], Jean-Baptiste, französischer Geigenbauer, * Mirecourt (Département Vosges) 7. 10. 1798, ✝ Paris 19. 3. 1875; Sohn des Geigenbauers Claude François Vuillaume (* 1772, ✝ 1834), machte sich 1828 in Paris selbstständig und wurde bekannt durch den Nachbau von Geigen v. a. Stradivaris; schuf einen Bratschentyp mit besonders vollem Ton (Contralto) und einen vier Meter hohen Kontrabass, die Octobasse. Er erfand Maschinen zur Saiten- und Bogenherstellung.
